serendipitousromance:

View from Hagia Sophia to Sultanahmet Camii, Istanbul
Once I had an art history professor who was a little rough around the edges. She constantly talked of her travels as an art historian and archaeologist in Turkey and various other areas of the Middle East and Europe. One time after class I asked her where her favorite place was to work. Without hesitation she said Hagia Sophia, and told me of her experiences there and around Istanbul. From that moment on she was very kind to me and as we continued conversation in between classes I realized how much of the world I have yet to see, and hope to discover one day soon. Also, it was a lesson on how to never judge a person by their external shell but to dig a little deeper and discover the kindness everyone possesses.
